Day one
Today was the first day of our annual hillclimb and we were lucky enough to experience another day without any rain. After ten runs and a lot of excitement the rain kicked in but will be gone for tomorrow’s fun, according to Metservice.
Fortunately we were able to hold ten runs during the day. Which unfortunately was possible only because we had not more than 13 riders in total for today. We hope to have more people coming around tomorrow.
The forecast for today looked rather dull but it improved and when we started in the morning it was dry and almost no wind. It took the usual time to setup the road and get the registration, scrutinising, general setup started. At around 10:00 the first run was underway. We managed to get four runs in before lunch and the times were improving already.
A post of results on Facebook was commented by Drew “This ought to be interesting.”.
Obviously this was taken serious by the riders here and the times were getting even better after lunch. In total there were four timings under 2:20.000 by Jon Cianci and Ryan O’Neill. Ryan had the better time in the end. He managed the track in 2:16.925 which was the fastest time of today.
All other participants were able to shave of second by second as well and it seems that everyone was happy with the day.
