This weekend saw the reigning King of the Cliffhanger provide a performance which made clear why he is the current King. After a great performance on the fun day Jay Lawrence made an outstandingly fast run on the competition day.

On Saturday he made clear that he was “up to it” with some impressive runs already close to his existing record and it was only a matter of time till he would go faster than that. The previous record of 2:09.684 was beaten on Saturday with a new best time of 2:08.270 by the end of the day.
With a good rest and a new set of tyres he started the competition day only on run three and got a 2:08.380 just before lunch. After lunch he got better every run and finally smashed the existing record by more than 5 seconds. Jay rode the bike over the 6,100m long stretch in only 2:04.596 minutes at an average of 176.35 Km/h to win the TSS Red Baron – Suzuki C1 class.
